Compliance with state, local, and federal regulations is critical to the successful operation of Colonial's clinics, and therefore has a priority in operating procedures. License renewal is carefully tracked, and is the mandate of the clinic's management to comply with all operating procedures and regulations. In addition, all Colonial clinics require meeting accreditation standards set forth by one of the following accreditation bodies:
- Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities/CARF & The State of Missouri
The clinics and pharmacy are subject to scheduled and unannounced audits and inspections by the various regulatory agencies. In order to ensure compliance at all level, Colonial has made significant investments in clinic operations, documentation and training. In addition, clearly written policy and procedures have been established to address each regulatory and operational issue. Situations for which policy or procedure is not in place are addressed by Colonial's structured management organization.

With regulatory compliance a critical component of Colonial's operations, management has invested in Regional Directors. These personnel are tasked with performing the critical role of ensuring quality assurance at each center. The Regional Directors also provide management with a constant overview of each clinic's current conformity with policies, procedures, and government regulations. Regional Directors inspect each clinic unannounced at least four times per year.
